At the Tap Rooms we are extremely passionate about our beer and it is our mission to champion the very best of craft ales.
Our offering will have a strong Cumbrian focus and will constantly change, giving local brewers the opportunity to showcase the best of Cumbria.
We believe everyone deserves to experience beer at its best, as if it were drunk in the brewery itself and our innovative relationship with our brewing partners allows us to achieve exactly this.
Our beer is collected directly from the brewery where it is transferred from the brewer’s conditioning tanks, into 500 litre vats for transportation, transported to the Tap Rooms and then pumped into our 3 copper tanks.
Throughout this process the beer never comes into contact with the air…..in fact the first time it does is when it hits your glass!
Situated in the heart of Bowness we specialise in serving pasteurised brewery-fresh craft beers served direct from three large copper tanks displayed in the venue, plus a range of other local, national and international beer offerings. We have drinks to quench everyone’s thirst.

Mike L2026-01-28Not just a restaurant, not just a bar, more a great food + beer destination I've visited Bowness Tap Rooms several times and always really enjoyed the food, the beer and the music there. Great if you want something simple to eat like a burger, and the beers out of the three huge copper tanks are excellent - I've tried IPAs and a Lager. We were looked after this time by Stacey who was really welcoming and helpful.
Wendy P2026-01-25Great staff, fantastic food, wonderful atmosphere, what's not to love Located right in the heart of Bowness and a short distance to our holiday accommodation we found Stacey to be helpful, cheerful and professional. We went their 3 X and were in Bowness for six nights, and ate their on two nights, having their pizza and burgers which were excellent and great value for money. The atmosphere was a breath of fresh air, playing great upbeat music was fantastic, and we are in our sixties. We plan to come back later in the year with our daughter who we know will enjoy it too.

The food was great and even on a busy Saturday the staff were really welcoming and got us a table straight away. Richard and Stacey are great hosts and made our experience even better. The food was really tasty and really good value for money, shout out to the chef Valentina, we would definitely come back here again!

The food was absolutely lovely and the atmosphere was great. Definitely will be back. And again Richard, and Stacey were amazing can’t fault them! Thankyou!

Very friendly, amazing bar staff Jack was super lovely, great music, great atmosphere, pet friendly, we ate a pizza, sweet potato fried with goats cheese and honey and had a kinder bueno waffle for dessert. Amazing!!!! Valentina the chef knows how to cook!!! So fresh and beautifully served. The white Zinfandel went down a treat. 100% would reccomend. Thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours. The staff who own and run the place are really friendly and very professional at what they do without being imposing. The food is excellent, we had the 4 Formaggi pizza with a side of dirty fries, and it was superb! The price was also very reasonable. I would recommend this bar restaurant for food and drink to all visitors to Bowness, it was great! My partner and I will be returning to Bowness regularly, and most definitely visiting the Tap Rooms when we do. Really happy, well done guys.
